Our Mission

Gem.B Pilates are dedicated to helping individuals achieve their fitness goals through specialised pre and postnatal Pilates programs. We are committed to enhancing core strength, flexibility, and balance to support our clients' wellness journeys.

We design programmes & workouts to build a deeper foundation of strength, flexibility and balance.

 

Pilates is a form of exercise which strengthens your body from within by focusing on the deeper muscles in order for the larger ones to function at their peak. As well as being able to help people after injury we also Specialise in pre & post natal pilates. 

 

A lot of people tend to associate physical strength and capability with big muscles but the body is complex and requires ALL muscles to be strong to function in the best possible way and in order for us to be at peak performance and avoid injury. A lot of injuries derive from the smaller deeper muscles being neglected and weak. Our Pilates plan focuses on strengthening those deeper muscles, as the slower and more controlled movements will force your body to recruit deeper muscles to strengthen you from within.   

 

Postpartum fitness plans - we can design workouts specifcially to enforce deep core and pelvic floor strength from pregnancy through to child birth and thereafter.   

 

Pregnancy will of course place additional stress on your core muscles as they adapt to growing and supporting your baby as well as the rest of your body.  It’s important to keep these muscles as strong as possible during pregnancy.  121 sessions with us will keep your body strong in those areas where it naturally weakens.   Not only muscles but tendons, ligaments and especially your pelvic region of muscles are all under stress and it’s really important to work your body regularly in way which will keep these muscles strong. 

 

We are based in St.Albans but we also cover Harpenden, Bushey, Watford, Radeltt and other areas.  As part of any postnatal programmes we can also travel to your home for 121 sessions if you have just given birth or alternatively you can come to the studio.

Gemma is a certified Pilates instructor and personal coach with a passion for empowering individuals. With years of experience, she is committed to offering personalised guidance to clients, enabling them to reach their full potential and attain optimal fitness. As a mum of two, she understands the importance of working on the core and getting fitness back on track, especially for fellow mums.
